Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandNice passion fruit, lime, grapefruit rind, jalapeno, light asparagus with a light floral, waxy, melon note. Ripe, round, elegant, full palate with creamy, mineral acidity but also a touch austere. Gooseberry, smoky, asparagus, passion fruit, lime and grapefruit flavour with a touch of honey and orange with a nettle finish. Good concentration and acidity. The label Greywacke takes its name from the river stones in Kevin Judd's (Cloudy Bay fame) vineyard in Rapaura. The wines are made at Dog Point Vineyard in the lower Brancott Valley. Can't wait to taste the pinot noir.Tasted: 02 August 2010Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
