Frescobaldi Castelgiocondo Lamaione Merlot 2006

Tuscany, ItalyThis 100 per cent merlot Lamaione comes with a big, black cherry, dark plum nose spiked with coffee, mineral, spicy cedar and liquorice aromas. The palate is dense, the fruit ripe, round and sweet with good acidity and lots of smooth grained tannins. Peppery, spicy, black cherry jam, black plum, coffee, cedar, tobacco, Christmas cake, orange peel, earthy, licorice flavours. Big, warm, bold style that is Tuscan yet merlot. Needs 4-7 years to round out. All grown on a 5 hectare site at Tenuta di Castelgiocondo.Tasted: 17 May 2010Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
