Cheval des Andes 2002
Las Compuertas, Vistalba District, Luján de Cuyo, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaCheval des Andes is made at Terrazas de los Andes and represents a joint venture between Terrazas and Cheval Blanc. A first bottle was showing signs of oxidation but a second bottle was perfect. At eight years the colour was remarkably deep and showing only a little age. The nose was open and full of red berries with floral and mineral scents. The palate of the 60/26/7/7/ blend of malbec, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot are equally beguiling with spicy cinnamon and ginger flecks throughout the soft intense cran-cherry, liquorice and mineral fruits. Approaching full maturity and ready to drink.Tasted: 28 April 2010Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:AB | $75.00 | 750ml | |
