JoieFarm PTG 2007

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPTG or "Passetoutgrain" is a riff on the classic gamay/pinot noir blend you can encountered in Burgundy. The blend is kept in a 25/75 combination of new and 1 year old French oak for 10 months before release. The '07 is a pleasant jump up in quality from the 2006. The palate is slightly reductive with meaty leesy notes but much sweeter fruit this time around. The textures are soft and supple the flavours a mix red cherries and strawberries. An easy sipping red that should age a year or two in bottle and improve further. Try it with duck confit or roasted chicken. Not cheap.Tasted: 01 January 2010Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
