Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore 2006
Tuscany, ItalyEquilibrium best describes the 2006 harvest in Bolgheri that saw all the grapes arrive early and fully ripe. The wine is aged 18 in barrel before the components 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 5% syrah are blended and aged another 10 months before release. The nose is all Bolgheri, fragrant and refined with savoury black fruits and sweet vanilla undertones. The attack is round, the tannins sweet, and the palate rich. Lovely density and length: a New World wine with local sensibilities.
