Eileen Hardy Shiraz 2004

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaDark cherry colour. Licorice root, black olive, barnyard, saddle leather, tobacco, plum jam, blackberry, peppery, coffee, spicy aromas. Rich, round, tannic, warm and tart palate. Lots of blackberry jam, black cherry, savoury, smoky, vanilla, peppery, licorice, black olive flavours with a touch of bacon and chocolate. Good fruit concentration but a bit too tart, hot and stewed on the finish. Maybe an awkward phase, score gives the benefit of the doubt. Needs 2-4 years.Tasted: 19 October 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
