La Vieille Ferme Côtes du Ventoux Rouge 2006
Ventoux, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThe Perrin Cotes du Ventoux is mostly grenache with small percentages of syrah, mourvèdre and cinsault. Look for a dry, spicy earthy red with bits of black cherry, licorice and pepper. The fruit is well managed and seemingly brighter under screw cap and the tannins are nicely fine-grained. It all finishes dry with a twist of acidity that shouts cassoulet or lamb stew. Stupid, as my kids would say, value. Drink all winter.Tasted: 04 October 2008Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $13.99 | 750ml | specialty listing |
