La Vieille Ferme Côtes du Ventoux Rouge 2005

Ventoux, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FrancePerrin blends predominately grenache with several southern Rhone grapes, syrah, mourvèdre and cinsault, to deliver this resiny, spicy earthy, black cherry jam nose with hints of game. It's the first vintage under screwcap. on the palate it remains dry and firm with more peppery, licorice, meaty dark red fruit flavours. There is no mistaking its dry, lean Euro style all it needs is a stew or ragout to tame the edges. Good value.Tasted: 13 February 2007Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
