Frescobaldi Montesodi Castello di Nipozzano Chianti Rufina Riserva 2001

Tuscany, ItalyBig spicy, black cherry, black berry, vanilla, coffee, bay, tobacco, ash, meaty, licorice, waxy, black olive aromas with a touch of barnyard. Rich, round, concentrated palate with supple, grainy tannins. Full flavour intensity here with coffee, ash, mineral, orange peel, black cherry jam, plum spicy, peppery, tobacco and cardamom flavours. Great concentration of fruit in a long, persistent finish. Drinkable now but will improve for 5-10 years. Very fine, delicious sangiovese with ripeness and finesse.Tasted: 14 November 2007Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
