Grão Vasco Tinto 2003

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalGrão Vasco is a blend of touriga nacional, jaen, alfrocheiro preto and tinta roriz that in a blind tasting could be confused with a pinot noir. This is gentle affordable red wine with fragrant, spicy, leathery flavours with plenty of acidity that makes it very food friendly. The name, Grão Vasco stems from the name of the great 16th century painter, Vasco Fernandes, whose studio was at Viseu, capital of the Dao region. Good value in a funky red.Tasted: 01 August 2007Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
