Grão Vasco Tinto 2001

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalThe name, Grão Vasco stems from the name of the great 16th century painter, Vasco Fernandes, whose studio was at Viseu, capital of the Dao region. Look for a fresh red with leafy resiny nose and more leafy spicy black fruit on the palate. You'll note a pronounced acidity on the palate which should make it a favourite among local restaurants looking for a good mid-week, work-horse red. Drink all winter.Tasted: 08 September 2004Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
