Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico Riserva 2001
Tuscany, ItalyBig meaty, sausage, peppery aromas with cherry, tobacco, licorice, prune and leather nose. Rich, round, supple, balanced palate with slightly dusty tannins. Lots of smoky, peppery, meaty, spicy, tobacco, prune, cassis and chocolate flavours. Good intensity with good acidity. Should improve over the next 2-5 years. Expect this label to get a bit richer and cleaner as the new clones and plantings at Ruffino's many estates mature. In general The Ducale Oro Riserva is an 85/15 blend of sangiovese with merlot and colorino.Tasted: 09 October 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $47.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
