Ruffino Il Ducale 2003

Tuscany, ItalyA new wine from Ruffino that is sure to garner big attention. The Ducale name is well know to Chianti drinker but this 80 per cent sangiovese has a dash of cabernet in it and a twist of modern Tuscany. Fragrant fresh and open on the nose with cherry, meaty, spicy, floral, cassis aromas. Friendly and easy to sip with some light tannins and good fruit, this will be a big hit on restaurant wine lists and at home for consumers who want something balanced and ready. Terrific packaging love the red and cream yellow label that picks up the Ducale history but makes its own statement.Arriving this fall.Tasted: 21 October 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
