Chateau Sainte Eulalie La Cantilene Minervois 2003

Minervois, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThis is an attractive red wine with gamey sausage, peppery, minty, orange peel aromas streaked with black cherry, spicy and strawberry. Rich, ripe, round, full-bodied style with some youthful tannin. Very peppery, licorice, meaty, spicy, black cherry, plum, orange, vanilla flavours. Big, bold, warm and rustic with lots of fruit. Needs a year or two to smooth out or try with barbequed lamb. "La Cantilène de Sainte Eulalie" is the first Romanesque poetic work, penned in 88, and as such is considered the oldest document of French poetry.Tasted: 29 April 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
