Mission Hill Reserve Shiraz 2001
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLike most shiraz the fruit is exuberant on the nose offering a spicy clove black fruit scent mixed with toasted oak. On the palate the wine is more syrah-like than shiraz with its dry, earthy, meaty flavours and elevated Euro-acidity. The winery recommends grilled sausages or Provencal cheese - both should help the wine fill out. A solid effort. At Mission Hill they make both a syrah and "shiraz." The latter is aged exclusively in American oak.Tasted: 25 September 2003Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $17.95 | 750ml | Specialty |
