Frescobaldi Castelgiocondo Brunello di Montalcino 1998

Tuscany, ItalyAt 151 hectares the Castelgiocondo estate is the largest grower in Montalcino of sangiovese grapes for the production of Brunello. Expect an intense spicy, peppery, meaty nose with licorice and blackberry jam aromas. It's rich and round on entry yet elegant. We like the peppery, mocha, boysenberry, vanilla, gamey spicy flavours with light tannins and acidity on the finish. Very well balanced, attractive style for earlier consumption.Tasted: 08 September 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
