Batasiolo Barbera d'Alba Sovrana 2000

Piedmont, ItalyBatasiolo single vineyard Barbera comes from Sovrana a special plot of vines selected for their intense fruit character and more concentrated flavours. It is aged in French barrique for 12 months. Big colour and ripe cherry vanilla aromas waft out of the glass. Ripe and round on the entry with tobacco, pepper, cherry fruit and quite a whack of acidity in the finish. Perfect with fatty foods or ripe cheeses. Well made wine from a good vintage.Tasted: 01 March 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
