Maremma, Tuscany, ItalyFrom Angelo Gaja's new Tuscan estate in Bolgheri, this is a merlot, cab, sangiovese blend sporting deep colour. Lovely rich blackcherry fruit on the nose with very fine oak, coffee, leather and a funky note. Could easily be identified as Bordeaux on the nose, although sangiovese almond notes come through on the finish. Very well balanced, excellent length. Has some finesse and vibrancy.
