Penfolds Cabernet Sauvignon Bin 707 1998
South Australia, AustraliaThe "Grange Cabernet" is always marked by big oaky vanilla nose and in 1998 the cabernet is sensational. Look for blueberry, tobacco and cassis with a spicy, waxy pepper character both on the nose and palate. Incredibly rich, round and intense, this is a monumental 707 that isn't too jammy, too alcoholic or too overripe. Long tobacco, peppery, cassis finish. This wine was made for the long haul over the next ten to fifteen years. It is a serious red that is made only in the best years.
