Piedmont, ItalyBatasiolo is one of the largest producers in Piedmont, making about 160,000 cases of wine a year. The regular Barbaresco, made with purchased grapes, smells of cherries and sweaty tobacco. You get similar flavours but the textures and flavours are dry and lean in the mouth.
