Penfolds Magill Estate Shiraz 1997

Adelaide Hills, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide, South Australia, AustraliaThe '97 Magill is a pretty wine that shows its regional character. The nose is a smoky, toasted oak affair reflecting a 50/50 split of American and French oak. The fruit at McGill tends to ripen earlier (thanks to the warmer night-time temperatures of its urban vineyard) lending the wine a ripe fruit flavour and softer round tannins. Warm and inviting on the palate. Delicious and individual.Tasted: 01 March 2000Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
