Phantom Creek Estates Opens

By: Anthony Gismondi
A new destination for the South Okangan opens its doors.

Anthony Gismondi returns to the Black Sage Bench, near Oliver, British Columbia, to explore the completed Phantom Creek Estates Winery.

General Manager Santiago Cilley and winemaker Francis Hutt show off the final details to Phantom Creek from its spectacular circular barrel cellar tasting room to its single estate foudres and elegant artwork. The ambition of the project is a worthy reminder of the audacious beginning of the vineyards planted outside its walls, decades ago by some far-sighted BC wine pioneers and perhaps more important, winery owner Mr. Bai's long-term commitment to the future.
