Tenute Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino Library Release 2016
Tuscany, ItalyTen years is the ideal time to open the best Brunello vintages, and this 2016 is effortlessly entering its secondary stage, where primary fruit and youthful tannins give way to sour cherry, leather, tobacco, porcini, balsamic, and licorice notes. It remains Brunello thanks to its firm structure and dry finish, yet it retains surprisingly fresh acidity. A decade of bottle ageing helps meld its singular elements into a complete wine, and it's exciting that some Library wines are available to restaurants and collectors. The winery says it will be ideal to drink through 2035 with robust fare. The estate Brunello draws on multiple parcels at Casale del Bosco and Manachiara, blending the more elegant northwest-facing estate with the warmer, more powerful southeast-facing property.Tasted: 02 October 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $173.00 | 750ml | estimated retail price in the private sector |
