Bramito della Sala Chardonnay 2024

Umbria, ItalyBramìto is grown at the centuries-old Castello della Sala, 18 kilometres from the famed hilltop town of Orvieto. Fossil-dotted clay soil is home to this chardonnay, which projects elegance and minerality on the nose and palate. The inaugural vintage of Bramito della Sala was 1994, and three decades later, this, like other modern Italian chardonnays, is turning heads. It may be Burgundian-inspired, but the style is a richer take on ripe pear and red apple, with a creamy, chalky, citrus undercurrent. It is a sophisticated alternative to village Bourgogne at a fair price. Look for it in private wine stores.Tasted: 16 July 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
