Tightrope Winery Vertigo 2022
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI liked the 2019, but I think the 2022 is even better. The Vertigo blend is an excellent illustration of how the Okanagan is experimenting freely, mapping out its future by blending barbera 50%, cabernet franc 35%, and merlot 15%, all grown sustainably on the estate at Fleet Road and Thomas Vineyards. The attack is a delicious mix of red fruits, cherries, olives, red currants dusted with liquorice, and desert scrub. It's perfectly balanced at 13.1% alcohol and a real pleasure to drink. Food is the ticket here to complete the experience.
