Tightrope Winery Vertigo 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaVertigo is an oddball blend of 47 percent merlot, 24 percent cabernet franc, and 29 percent barbera that caught the attention of judges at the National Wine Awards of Canada. No doubt it was the lightness and the freshness that attracted. It’s fruit-forward with cassis, plum and rhubarb, earthy notes, and a juicy, lively finish. Could be a match for duck, woodfired, meaty pizzas, or any grilled vegetables dishes. Vertigo is handpicked and fermented in small lots. It spends 21 days on skins before going into a combination of French and American oak, of which 50 percent is new. It spends a further ten months in barrel before being bottled.Tasted: 27 June 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
