Blue Grouse Pinot Noir 2023

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaBlue Grouse, guided by winemaker Stacy Hornemann and supported by the Jackson Family’s resources, is on a winning streak. This pinot noir embodies everything desirable in a young New World region like the Cowichan Valley, combining estate grown fruit with some neighboring grapes fermented in amphorae and stainless steel, then matured for 18 months in a mix of new and neutral French barrels and puncheons. Its slender profile, as Treve Ring aptly notes, contributes to its remarkable balance and inviting aroma. It’s hard to see this wine lingering long in any glass. It boasts an exceptionally juicy character, with red fruit accented by sea salt, minerals, and cherry blossoms. Among the most refined pinots we've tasted on Vancouver Island, it also comes in at under 12 percent alcohol.Tasted: 24 April 2026Tasted by: Prices:
