Gérard Bertrand Tautavel Hommage aux Vignerons 2022
Tautavel, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Roussillon, Sud de France, France560,000 years ago, the ancestors of the French already lived in the Tautavel area. Today, centuries old landscapes house a unique vineyard of clay-limestone and schist shaped like an amphitheatre. The '22 is entirely grenache noir harvested by hand. A double sorting system is used in both the vineyard and the cellar to ensure only the best grapes are selected, resulting in a warm, welcoming style of this delicious, easy drinking red that embodies the luxury of rural south living. After fermentation, a third of the wine ages for nine months in barrels, with the rest kept in vats. The aroma is a pleasing blend of black raspberries, licorice, and black olives, with a hint of mushrooms. The palate offers power and density, with strength, volume, and finesse creating a dense, fresh red that exudes elegance and highlights the potential of the Languedoc.Tasted: 31 January 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $31.00 | 750ml | estimated retail price in the private sector |
