Ciù Ciù Merlettaie Pecorino 2024
Marche, ItalyMerlettaie means lace, and the name of this wine pays homage to the lace workers of Offida, characteristic of these hills much like the Pecorino grape. From organic vineyards in Offida and Acquaviva Picena, at 280m, this was native fermented and aged in 25hL Slavonian oak barrels over a period of 8-10 weeks, where it remained for 6 months on lees prior to bottling. Pouring a shining deeper lemon hue, this fuller white draws pine nuts, quince, and white peach blossoms along the creamy palate, seasoned with light toast, and lingering with grapefruit peel.
