Ciù Ciù Merlettaie Pecorino 2023
Marche, ItalyMerlettaie means lace, and the name of this wine pays homage to the lace workers of Offida, characteristic of these hills much like the Pecorino grape. From organic vineyards in Offida and Acquaviva Picena, at 280m, this was native fermented and aged in 25hL Slavonian oak barrels over a period of 8-10 weeks, where it remained for 6 months on lees prior to bottling. Ripe white peach, pear blossoms, quince, pink grapefruit roll over a lees slicked base, seasoned with subtle toast, and lingering with tangerine on the finish.
