Vinsobres, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceI revisited the 2022 Vinsobres, a relative newcomer to the prestigious Côtes du Rhône standalone Village wines, and it continues to overdeliver in the Perrin lineup in terms of quality for the price. The 2022 Les Cornuds is a classic mix of Grenache generosity and Syrah structure, with dark berry, herbs, dense but round tannins, and lively acidity. It's a good step up in seriousness from Côtes du Rhône and will reward a little patience in the bottle through 2028-2030.Tasted: 10 June 2026Tasted by: Prices:

Vinsobres, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceLes Cornuds' stony terraces are located in the village of Vinsobres, the most northern of the Southern Rhône Cru villages, sitting at an average altitude of 300m, with a terroir that allows both Syrah and Grenache to thrive. The name Les Cornuds is a nod to the tiny hamlet around which the vines grow, and is also the name of grape picking hod or old fashioned harvest basket. You can expect very fresh, aromatic black and red fruits, as well as plenty of dried herb scents. The palate is lush and smooth, with mouth filling blackberry and black cherry, accompanied by a hint of cognac. The acidity is limestone fresh, the texture round and supportive, adding more finesse than you might expect at this price. Fine value here.Tasted: 26 September 2025Tasted by: Prices:
