Tedeschi Maternigo Valpolicella Superiore 2020
Pedemonte Valpolicella, Verona, Veneto, ItalyMaternigo is a full on Tedeschi red, meaning it has muscle and can flex at the right time, when required. Otherwise, it has a soft opening with ripe black cherries, chocolate, and vanilla, but all with a cooling structure with bright acidity to keep it all in balance. The complexed palate shows figs, almonds, and a savoury olive note. Impressive for any straight up Valpolicella, the blend is composed of 40% corvina, 30% corvinone, and 30% rondinella, all grown organically at 400m at Impervio Vineyard. We enjoyed it with duck, but a medium rare steak or mature cheese after dinner is a great choice.Tasted: 19 July 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $39.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
