North Coast Region, California, United StatesSchramsberg is one of the leading California sparkling wine producers, based in Calistoga at the northern end of Napa Valley. The traditional method Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg ever made, dating to 1965, and is now made from North Coast fruit sourced from Napa, Sonoma, and Marin. This was barrel fermented, with 2 years on lees before bottling with approximately 7 g/L. Crisp lemon, green apple streaks through the lean frame, with a buzzy underlay that takes this through the lemon laced finish.
