British Columbia, CanadaSignature is a blend of Keremeos and Cawston fruit grown in the Similkameen Valley. The ’21 blend is merlot (34%) and a bit less cabernet sauvignon (32%), 18% cabernet franc, with malbec 9% and 7% petit verdot. Each block of fruit is harvested separately and fermented with native yeast in concrete before spending 16 months in French oak, before the best barrel, or Signature selection, is made. A consistent performer over the years, the nose is wild Similkameen in a warm year with black fruits, pipe tobacco, fresh pepper, and a difficult to explain suave, concrete palate. The palate is similar, with light chocolate notes and a long, smooth, lingering finish.
