Stags' Leap Petite Sirah 2020
Napa Valley, California, United StatesThis might be my favourite vintage yet of this relative classic. It remains bold and full bodied, but with a marked refinement, more complex than monolithic, combining ripe, crushed wild berries with a vibrant array of spices and dried florals. The wood is harmoniously balanced by the rich, inky fruit, with fine tannins and notable freshness that is hard to resist now. This held beautifully for several days after opening, and it's well worth tucking a couple of bottles away to revisit ten years from now.
