Martin's Lane Simes Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSimes Vineyard, located in a cooler, steep, north facing area in East Kelowna, produces the darkest pinot noir within the Martin's Lane collection. The vineyard's granite based soils, overlaying fine silt, are situated just a few kilometres south of the 50°N latitude, contributing to the cool characteristics of this pinot noir that addresses global warming. Like the 2020 vintage, it is composed exclusively of clones 667 and 943, fermented naturally with 70% whole bunches. This process imparts a distinctive perfume that contrasts with its weight and colour. The wine exhibits dense and vibrant fruit on the palate with pronounced acidity and low alcohol. It all culminates in a long, vivid, persistent yet elegant finish that competes with the finest West Coast pinot noirs and many Burgundies.Tasted: 18 February 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
