Martin's Lane Naramata Ranch Vineyard Single Block Collection Zenith Pinot Noir 2022
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaZenith was the inaugural single block wine from Martin's Lane, sourced from the Naramata Ranch at coordinates 49.66° N and -119.631° W. The vineyard is situated at a rugged elevation of 550 meters, enhancing the wine's complexity. Winemaker Shane Munn characterizes Zenith as "a single, isolated parcel or block from our most complicated site." Despite its light hue, this vineyard tends to yield highly aromatic pinot noir with remarkable texture and tannin. Planted with the 667 clone, the site has surpassed the significance of the clone alone after nearly 20 years of production in defining the Zenith style. The 2022 Pinot Noir underwent spontaneous fermentation with full whole clusters, aged 15 months in tight grained 25-28% new oak barrels. It presents dark floral aromas and maintains a sophisticated alcohol content of 13%, allowing its complex layers to be fully appreciated upon tasting. The fruit is organically grown and certified since the 2020 vintage.
