Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaHidden Valley Vineyard is just off the Naramata Bench main road, tucked into the upper hillside south of the winery. Often, merlots don’t receive the appreciation they deserve, as evidenced by the exceptional quality of the merlot produced at Hillside. Its appealing aroma features earthy, savoury red fruit and mineral notes. Winemaker Kathy Malone employs a delicate touch, skillfully incorporating black and red fruit layers to enhance complexity and length. The wine finishes with plummy notes accented by a hint of orange and fine-grained tannins — making it more European in style than New World.
