Hillside Merlot Hidden Valley Vineyard 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Hidden Valley Vineyard is tucked away up behind Hillside on a south-west facing bowl shaped site that catches the sun. It’s similar in texture to Dickinson but this label has more savoury sage and spice elements threading through the black raspberry and black cherry fruit. The finish is long and licorice laced with a beautiful, mineral/stony textured finish. The Hillside single vineyard merlots are important wines that speak to the site and the sub-appellation. Try this with lamb. The wine spends 16 months in barrel, of which 33 percent is new American oak.Tasted: 11 August 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
