Orofino Pinot Noir Home Vineyard 2021

Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOrofino works with five different clones grown at its Cawston Bench estate vineyard. It is no secret that winemaker John Weber believes all wines are made in the vineyard, which in the wild Similkameen means authenticity. The silky textures draw you into the wine and the savoury, juicy mix of rich, red fruits with spice and a subtle desert scrub undercurrent. The grapes were hand harvested, lightly crushed into half-ton open fermenters, and hand punched 2 times per day until the end of wild, natural fermentation. It was all 11 months in mostly older French oak barrels and bottled unfiltered and unfined. Uniquely Orofino and Similkameen, this is a welcome addition to the New World list of quality pinot noir.Tasted: 07 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
