Mouton Cadet Blanc 2023

Bordeaux, FranceThere has been no significant change here over the last few months, leaving me still impressed by this ancient brand that reinvented itself in the vineyard and at the winery. Very few wines deliver the concentration and flavours you get here for the price. The Cadet Blanc blend is just over 2/3 sauvignon blanc (the freshness) and just under 1/3 sémillon (the roundness and fruit) with one percent muscadelle (for lift and refinement). The Bordelais are the blend masters, and this is an example of what you can do with care at the entry level. The nose is an attractive green and citrus mix with apricot and a tropical touch. The acidity is perfect, and the finish is a lovely saline mineral affair. The ideal aperitif for vegetable maki rolls, oysters, or take it to dinner. It has the composure for halibut or seafood linguine.Tasted: 28 March 2025Tasted by: Prices:
