Domaine Rolet L'étoile Chardonnay en Novalet 2022
Jura, FranceThis chardonnay is grown on the hills near Lons Le Saunier, with distinguished soils of grey blue marls and star shaped fossils called pentacrine, after which this small appellation was named. Their sloping plot, en Novalet, is located in the village of Planoiseau, in the eastern part of the L'étoile appellation. This is partial native fermented in barrique, where it ages for around 1 year before bottling. Tight, racy, and mineral driven, with a flick of flint kissing green apple, lemon pith and peel, and crushed stones, finishing with ample lingering salinity.
