Van Westen Vineyards Vulture 2021

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA so-so vintage with plenty of challenges from heat to wildfire smoke and more across the valley, the Vulture is holding its own. The nose is a mix of blackberries and black cherries, with a firm mid-palate and dry, savoury finish. Earth and minerals tone down the fruit and add complexity to a solid wine. Only 165 cases were made of this Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barrels for 21 months. The vineyards involved are Boothe Road, Granite Ridge, and Salting, made up of silt loam on the surface with thin bands of silty clay loam in the subsoil.Tasted: 22 October 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
