Giovanni Rosso Del Commune di Serralunga d'Alba Barolo 2018
Serralunga, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyI love the tight mineral styling of this Serralunga, giving the wine a regal stony undercarriage. The fruit comes from six vineyards planted in 1947, 1959, 1994, 2000, 2006, and 2008, over a mix of calcareous clay, limestone, and sandy soils, farmed by the Rosso family for over a century. The charming 2018's are a delight to drink now, although they can effortlessly age for a decade or more. Red and blue fruits headline, with blood orange and dried roses following. The vinification is done in cement tanks, and the aging is done in 25 hectolitre French oak casks for 36 months.Tasted: 12 September 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $70.99 | 750ml | BC Liquor Stores |
