Travaglini Nebbiolo Coste della Sesia 2020
Gattinara, Piedmont, ItalyNebbiolo light is always an appealing way to introduce you to the northern Italian reds. The Travaglini family has produced estate wines off 59 hectares of vineyards covering roughly 50% of the total Gattinara DOCG for four generations. Expect refreshing young vine wines with bright acidity and dry, if soft, tannins. Roses, plums, and leathers mark the nose and spill onto the palate with more black cherries, plums, licorice, and spice. It's not quite rustic, but I need some spaghetti, meatballs, or a favourite hard cheese (the older, the better).
