Lightning Rock Blanc de Noirs Elysia Vineyard Traditonal Method Brut Nature 2021
Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIn 2006, Elysia Vineyards six acres were planted to pinot noir 3.5 acres, viognier 1.0 acres, and syrah 0.5 acres. It is one of two traditional method, single vineyard Blanc de Noirs released by Lightning Rock. The Elysia Vineyard's vines grow over a mix of limestone and weathered granite on a steep, sloping bench. The style is slightly more intense than Canyonview, with brighter acidity and persistent lemon green apple, alpine strawberries, red fruit, and a hint of almonds. The finish is clean and salty, and the mousse is persistent with a touch of the desert scrub herbaceousness that only adds to the mystery.
