Lightning Rock Blanc de Noirs Elysia Vineyard Traditonal Method Brut Nature 2019
Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is one of two traditional method, single-vineyard blanc de noirs released in 2019, with pinot noir coming off of Summerland's Elysia Vineyard, planted 2006, and its steep slopes of limestone and weathered granite. After a whole bunch press, this native fermented in older puncheons until a January bottling, where it stayed on lees until it was disgorged in late January 2020, with zero dosage and minimal sulphur throughout. Bone dry, this is ripping with chalky acidity, thanks to the combination of profound soils and careful viticulture.
