Lightning Rock Blanc de Noirs Canyonview Vineyard Traditonal Method Brut Nature 2021

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLightening Rock works with three distinctive single vineyards that lie within kilometres of each other. The ’21 Canyonview Brut is another solid effort from the dependable Summerland Bench producer specializing in freshness and energy. It is whole cluster pressed into neutral oak puncheons, where it goes through wild primary fermentation and malolactic fermentation before spending four months in neutral French oak puncheons. The final journey is 12 months of bottle aging before disgorgment. It is a zero dosage Brut Nature sparkler. The nose is reminiscent of passionfruit with a herbaceous fennel and coriander note. The palate is a mix of Meyer lemon that runs through the creamy, lees, bread dough finish. Dry and refined, there is no rush to drink this wine. Canyonview Vineyard was first planted in 2003. It looks out over the dramatic Trout Creek Gorge traversing Summerland before emptying Okanagan Lake.Tasted: 30 August 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
