Black Hills Ipso Facto 2022

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2020 Ipso Facto grabbed a Platinum medal at the WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada, and in 2022, it followed up with a high level Gold medal, riffing off the classic Australian blend of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz. Look for dense aromas of black and blue fruits and black pepper before a palate of rich, juicy black and blue fruits move in with a tarry licorice underside and a lick of chocolate. As intense as it is, it remains a relatively elegant expression of the blend and the South Okanagan. There is no rush to drink this now, although many will. As I have said before, think Penfolds Bin 389 in the south Okanagan. The only downside to this wine is it is losing its winemaker. Ross Wise has recently departed Black Hills choosing to move back to New Zealand to pursue his craft.Tasted: 06 August 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
