Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMade from 100% Clone 95 sourced from Duncan Vineyard on the Naramata Bench, this chardonnay is whole bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barrels and larger puncheons, followed by 10 months of maturation in barrels (25% new), and partial malolactic fermentation. The winemaker’s choice of barrels, which are steam bent rather than typical fire bent, imparts subtle oak spices instead of toasty, charred aromas, adding a unique character to this wine. The result is a charming, pure fruited chardonnay with crisp pear and yellow apple, complemented by a hint of tropical pineapple and delicate florals.
